IF the movie stayed on this funny brutal tone it could be easly one of best movies ever, but the other grim part killed it.. you can go grim depressive or humor fantasy...do both in one movie is bad idea:/

Dawn of the Dead did liminal horror before it was cool. The empty playground with toys strewn over while birds are casually chirping and the empty mall gives “Nothing is Scarier” vibes.

When you think about it giving Dredd a partner like Anderson in this movie was rather brilliant, because unlike Stallone’s this version of Dredd isn’t really meant to be a character, he’s more like an idea, like the physical personification of law and order, which I think is why he never removes his helmet, because we’re not meant to see the human being inside of him, and so Anderson is like the counterbalance to that idea, her we see and we do get to know about her character and backstory, and so she’s there to offer the audience the characterization that Dredd doesn’t have while Dredd is there to to be the symbol of justice that carries out all of duties and responsibilities

What a way to start a career and a build a reputation. Being assessed and passed by none other than, the Judge Dredd.

100% needs another movie, ANDERSON. Like the bad judge, 20 years later working the meat grinder, we reconnect with a grizzled Anderson who's now a carbon copy of Dredd though in a city of 8 million people she's not seen Dredd again since that episode at Peach Tree's. She hates the way her life has turned out and the horrors she's both seen with her own eyes and through her physic ability, devoted to the Law, she despises Dredd as he Passed her, he knowing first hand what she was going to witness. Once again a Bust goes wrong, and when back-up arrives it's Dredd, who's still a tank, but older and slower, and he proves to be tactical disadvantage. However the stubbon decisions Dredd makes that Anderson must follow as he's the superior Judge ultimately create a bond between the judges, and save the day. Please make ANDERSON happen?!?!

i'd like to think if Anderson ever got in trouble she would get a pass: because dredd is just- she is under my jurisdiction move along.👁️👄👁️

Karl urban delivered the most accurate depiction of the incorruptible and law-dedicated joe dredd to date,I doubt it will ever be surpassed. Displaying the fascism of dredd especially in the interrogation and how all the horrors he faces in peach trees is nothing but a days work to him at the end of the movie. 5 star cinema.

See how he addresses him as ‘THE judge dredd’….which is the only indication that dredd has a reputation that precedes him.

Would love a sequel, set years later where Dredd and Anderson haven’t crossed paths since the “drug bust”. Anderson, a highly respected judge gets caught in a hugely dangerous situation, alongside a few other judges, a 1024 is called… Dredd arrives. Anderson and Dredd meet again, Dredd gives a short but reassuring greeting accompanied by a small nod. “Anderson” says Dredd in his low, rough tone. They both give each other a similar look, as if recalling a past situation. A sense of confidence creeps across Anderson’s face, with a slight smirk. Judgement time…
